When Cleaning Becomes More Than a Job - The Heart Behind Support Cleans

When we started Maid Fresh, we thought we were just starting a cleaning business. But somewhere along the way — between the bookings, the quotes, and the day-to-day hustle — we lost sight of why we began.
Then one day, a single quote reminded us exactly who we were and why we started this in the first place.

We turned up to a home that broke our hearts. The air was heavy. Rubbish everywhere. Children’s things scattered through the rooms. It wasn’t the mess that got to us — it was the people.
The landlord didn’t see a home — she saw a transaction. She wanted everything gone, even the family photos still hanging on the walls. And we realised then — this isn’t what Maid Fresh was meant to be about.
We both grew up in New Zealand, both from big families. We didn’t have much, but we were raised with respect, kindness, and hard work. We played outside until the streetlights came on, and when Goodnight Kiwi played on TV — we knew we were way past bedtime.
Our cousins were our best friends. We learnt to take our shoes off at the door, offer our seat, share what we had, and always help where we could.

What Support Cleans are About?
Going back to those values. It's not someone coming to save the day; it's someone walking beside you. Sometimes, that means cleaning a space so someone can breathe again.
Sometimes, it's reminding them that they still matter. This isn't about selling a service or slapping a "Book Now" button on the page. It's about the story - why we do what we do, and the heart behind every Support Clean.
This is the path we've chosen. We're going all in, full kainga heart, no looking back - giving every bit of care and mana we've got.
